I never think of myself as a giving person, or someone with a lot of patience, or someone whose sole purpose in life is to help others; however, I find it extremely rewarding to help others achieve their goals, to help others grow, in different categories, and to watch them grow.
Over the past several years, I've tried most of the fitness hypes of the time, I've gone through obsessed behavior in one side of the spectrum to another and over the course of it all I've learned a lot! I want to share bits and pieces of what I've learned here.. hoping that it would help someone out there.
I want to start by writing about living a balanced life. I know I know.. Everyone talks about it, everyone writes about it. balance is different for each person. I remember I used to workout for two hours every day, meal prep for the entire week and call that a balanced life! Or when I would have a cheat meal here and there and call that a balanced life.
It boils down to living a happy life! It doesn't matter if you can deadlift x lbs of weight, or if you can run x many miles in y many minutes per mile.. it all boils down to getting what you want out of it. It's about happiness. If you go for your run, do you get done enjoying that feeling of accomplishment? When you are lifting, pushing your body beyond the limits, are you ecstatic after or are you so occupied about your job, your family, your every-day life that you don't pause and enjoy that moment?
As I said, the key to living a fit life, and sustaining it is all in happiness.. in joy.. in appreciating and counting your blessings.
Live life happy..
